the african army of the andes

In late 2017 I organised an expedition over the Andes from Argentina to Chile via the Piuquenes and Portillo passes. We walked in the footsteps of a column of the liberating army of Jose de San Martin and his predominantly Afro-Argentine troops 200 years earlier, part of a trans-continental campaign to forge a United States of South America.
